"There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being apologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty." - Steve Maraboli

  • Relationships are easier when your peace belongs to you and not the person that you are with.
  • Don't be so Laser-Focused on getting married one day that you don't enjoy today.
  • Only date your ideas, never marry them. That way, when a new and better one comes along, you can trade up without doing a whole lot of emotional paperwork.
  • The world is your classroom. Learn everything you can. You can know how close your are to finding that one thing you can do that will make you shine.
  • You have been created in the image of God and are, therefore, majestic in His likeness.
  • If knowledge is power (which it is), then self-knowledge makes you Superwoman. Don't get mad at someone who is trying to help you put on your cape.
  • Take a bow every time you make one step towards Better Than Yesterday.
  • If you are going to be an individual...which I am begging you to do...your beliefs cannot be so fragile that you feel threatened if others don't share them. I know, it's hard to be the only one traveling north in a crowd that's heading south.
  • An individual. An intellectual army of one. A woman who does not have all the answers but who is always looking.
  • If you do your best...if you go beyond what's expected...if you bring your own symphony of ideas, you never know who might hear your music and give you a chance at more.
  • A life well lived is about far more than money, profession or relationships status. They are important, no doubt, but they are not everything. Work is essential; it's how you eat. And if you are lucky, one day your joy and your job will converge in such a way that your work barely feels like it. If things go well, you will also live in a place you like with people you love. But, as you work to get those things, I want you to have access to daily contentment, sprinkled liberally with moments of outright joy.
  • You can hold the whole world in your hands if you pick up enough books. They allow you to climb into other people's heads. They expose you to diverse ideas. They deliver up history, and once you know enough of that, it is easier to understand what's happening now because you have read about something similar that's happened before. We are great with technological advances, but emotionally we are pretty basic. Facts get pummeled by our feelings regularly. Both individuals and societies do the same wrong things a lot.
